What's new in OneStar

What changed in each release, newest first. Follow along with the RSS feed, or read a public report to see it all at work.

  1. 1.10.0

Forms people can find, and assistants that can build them

Public forms now show up across OneStar the way public reports do, a new Feedback page shows how forms work, and AI assistants can draft and install a form for you.

    • NewMakers' public forms now appear in the gallery and the Apps and games directory, and your app's report pages link to them. A public form alone gives your app a page on OneStar.
    • NewThe Share tab shows where a public form appears and how often its page was seen this week, with a ready to post line and its share image.
    • NewA Feedback page at onestar.sh/feedback explains forms, with a live example you can answer.
    • NewConnected AI assistants can build feedback forms: draft one, set its sites and test mode, get the install code for your framework and check that test answers arrive. Publishing a form or replying to someone shows you a preview first and waits for your approval.
    • ImprovedThe forms list walks you to your first answer, and OneStar tells you when a form gets it. Replies is now called Inbox, and the phone bar shows Feedback on plans with forms.
    • ImprovedA new permission, Read your forms, is off until you tick it; existing assistant connections sign in again to use forms. Settings has setup commands for each assistant, with one click installs for popular code editors.

  2. 1.9.0

Developer docs and a clearer view of each form

Feedback has public developer docs, a first install you can try on your own computer, and Results that show how many people who saw a form answered it.

    • NewDeveloper docs for Feedback at onestar.sh/docs: a quickstart, every common framework, apps, the JavaScript and server APIs, webhooks and troubleshooting. Every page can also be read as plain Markdown, for AI coding assistants.
    • NewResults show how many times each place loaded a form, how many people started it and how many finished, and can split answers by the plan or cohort your page states. The latest written answers now sit on Results itself.
    • ImprovedTry a form from your own computer before launch: answers from there are always test answers, never counted, and the Install tab lists them. A site that is not on the allowed list shows up there too, ready to add in one click.
    • ImprovedA form that stopped taking answers says why, settings that apply at once say so, and archived forms can be restored.
    • ImprovedQuestion ids show in the builder with a copy button, for sending answers from your own interface, and forms shown inside an app can pass its version, platform and signed in user.
    • FixedThe answers behind a number on Results always match that number, and the React instructions use the form element directly, with nothing extra to install.
  3. 1.8.0

    Form answers beside your reviews

Read what your users wrote in your forms the way you read your store reviews, and send answers where your team already works.

    • NewRead a form's written answers as a report: every tab a store report has, with themes that line up with your reviews. Answers already read are never counted again, and the report stays private to you.
    • NewYour weekly digest lists each form's answers this week, and connected AI assistants can read your forms and their results.
    • NewNew answers can post to a Slack channel at the star ratings you pick, with contact details masked.
    • NewOn Max: read answers and results from your own server, get a webhook call when someone answers, and import answers you collected before.
  4. 1.7.0

Feedback forms for your own app or game

Pro and Max can now ask their own users the questions store reviews do not answer, and read every answer counted beside their reviews.

    • NewForms for your product: a quick reaction, an NPS question, a poll, a short survey or an open feedback box, with follow up questions that show only after a matching answer.
    • NewPut a form in your site or app with two lines of HTML or the React component, styled with your colors and fonts. It draws only when it comes into view and keeps nothing in the visitor's browser until they answer.
    • NewEvery form can have its own page on OneStar, a link and a QR code, shared privately, by link or publicly like a report. Shared results can show quotes: you can feature a few, and readers can still browse every answer that may be quoted, with a count of any you hid and why.
    • NewResults counted by code: every share with its range, NPS with its range, a weekly trend, who answered and where the form ran. Every number opens the answers behind it.
    • NewChoose who may answer: anyone, anyone who leaves an email or your own ID, your signed in users, or OneStar accounts. Contacts are seen only by you and the person who left them.
    • NewNotifications when this month's answers near or pass your allowance, and a daily count of new answers you can turn on.
  5. 1.6.1

    Privacy policy update

The privacy policy now covers how our marketing pages measure visits from our search ads.

    • NewMarketing pages such as the home page, pricing and guides measure whether visits from our search ads lead to sign ups. It runs with advertising cookies off, never loads in the app, on sign in or on shared reports, and stays off when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
    • ImprovedThe privacy policy says what this measurement sends, where it never runs and who provides it.
