Can I analyze a competitor's app?
Yes. Reports read public store reviews, so any app on the App Store or Google Play works, yours or anyone else's, and nothing needs connecting. On Pro, Compare puts two to four apps side by side on the same themes.
How many reviews does a report read?
A report reads up to 500 reviews on Free, 5,000 on Pro and 25,000 on Max. The App Store gives at most the newest 500 reviews in each country, and Google Play reads back through about 30,000 of the newest. Each report states how many reviews it read and how far back they reach.
Can I read App Store reviews from other countries?
Yes. The App Store shows you the reviews from your own country only. A report reads the newest 500 reviews in each of up to 20 countries (5 on Free) and can split the results by country, so a complaint that only one market has stands out.
How is this different from pasting reviews into ChatGPT?
A chatbot reads what fits in one prompt and estimates its numbers. OneStar asks each review in the sample the same questions, stores the answers and counts them with code, so the numbers come out the same every time and each one links to the reviews it came from.
Is this sentiment analysis?
Sentiment is one part of it. Jev reads how each reviewer feels from the words rather than the stars, on a scale from very negative to very positive, then answers the rest of the questions: which theme a complaint or praise belongs to, how severe it is, whether the reviewer says they are leaving and what they ask for. A sentiment score tells you people are unhappy; the themes tell you about what.
What does unsure mean in a report?
It is the share of reviews Jev could not place in a theme with enough confidence. They stay in the report as their own row, so you can see how much is uncertain and read those reviews yourself.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. A free account gets 3 report runs a month of up to 500 reviews each and 1,500 reviews a month in all, with no card. Public reports are free to read without an account. Pro is $19 a month or $190 a year. Max is $49 a month or $490 a year.
Can I export the reviews to a spreadsheet?
Yes, on Pro and Max. Every judged review in a report exports as a CSV with its store, country, stars, date and version, an excerpt of up to 200 characters, and Jev's answers beside it: complaint and praise theme, severity, sentiment, whether the reviewer is leaving and any feature request, with tenure and, on Steam, playtime. OneStar never stores full review text, so the export holds excerpts rather than whole reviews.
Can OneStar reply to reviews or send alerts to Slack?
Yes, on Pro and Max. Connect App Store Connect or the Play Console and reply to your own app's reviews from one inbox that shows the theme Jev found in each review. Tracked reports send alerts and new reviews to Slack as well as by email. OneStar does not write replies with AI or send them automatically.
Can I use it from Claude, Codex or Cursor?
Yes, on Pro and Max, in beta. Connect your assistant to OneStar over MCP and ask about your reports in plain words: it can search the reviews behind each number and start a report or an Ask once you approve an estimate in reviews. Jev still judges each review and code still counts.
Does it work for games?
Yes. Games on the App Store and Google Play work like apps, Steam games are covered too, and a game sold on several stores is read as one product.
