What goes wrong
Not a shining example of luxury hospitality After enduring too much time spent in the 15-degree winter cold, I decided to treat myself to Afternoon Tea.
The sandwiches were so stale that even a 7-Eleven would have pulled them from the shelf. Naively assuming it was a brief kitchen oversight, I expected an apology and a swift replacement.
My big issue is the amount of children’s birthday parties there.
Absolutely unfair price quality. Ancient, only atmosphere and location save it from poor review
Check-in was an absolute joke. They left me standing in the lobby for over an hour and a half with zero care or urgency.
What goes well
So much personalized service and a clear desire to deliver a memorable experience.
The tea, sandwiches, and petit fours were outstanding and I could eat the scones with cream and jam every day. PLUS –Wonderful service from Porfirio and Khalid!
The Plaza delivers exactly what you hope it will: classic New York glamour, strong service, and a sense of occasion.
Awesome!. We had a great time and laughed a lot!
The space was huge, elegant, and luxurious — and the bath was enormous, which made it even more perfect for a birthday stay.

My wife and I just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary at the Plaza. Being long standing customers of this hotel we didn’t think we could ever be surprised about the exemplary customer service...
Perfect tea for the family. Eloise tea was so cute for kids. Very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Lovely experience overall. Thank you to our waiter Mr. Khan!
Everyone was very nice at the hotel. Because I made it to the front door. They had staff offering help with our luggage. Check in was easy. The room was lovely with character.
