Built for Tripadvisor

Made for how travelers review

Tripadvisor reviews are long, written after a stay or a visit, and often answered by management. Reports read them that way.

  • The score beside the words

Tripadvisor's own rating sits next to the stars of the travelers who wrote in the report's window, with the gap in plain words, so a listing coasting on old praise shows it.

  • Who will not come back

Travelers who say they will not stay, eat or visit again count toward why people leave, and the complaints they name are counted with them.

  • Management responses

Reviews management answered are split from the ones it left, and the place's card says how often and how fast it replies.

  • Changes over time

The weekly trend shows each complaint's share as it moves, so a renovation, a new chef or a change of owner shows up when it happens, and tracked places alert you when a theme jumps.

  • Hotels, restaurants and attractions on one list

Rooms, food, staff, booking and the attraction itself each have their own theme, so a hotel restaurant and a hotel room are never blurred together.

  • Tripadvisor and Google Maps together

A place listed on both, under the same name in the same town, is matched into one place, and each site's score is shown on its own.

Every tab of a report opens on a free account. Tracking, alerts and the deeper figures on each tab, such as audience splits and the detail inside each theme, need Pro.

Place themes

Themes written for places

Place reviews are read against their own list, so a thin breakfast, a noisy room or a closed ride is counted as what it is instead of landing in a generic bucket. A review that fits none goes to other or unsure, and both stay visible.

What visitors complain about

Each complaint gets one main theme, and the report also counts every other theme a review mentions.

  • Food and drink quality
  • Staff and service
  • Wait times
  • Cleanliness
  • Price and value
  • Booking and reservations
  • Rooms and comfort
  • Location
  • Parking and access
  • Noise and atmosphere
  • Attraction experience
  • Charges and refunds
  • Safety

What visitors love

Praise is counted the same way, so you know what to keep while you fix the rest.

What visitors ask for

Requests are sorted by type, so a run of asks for longer hours or a vegan menu stands out.

What a Tripadvisor report reads, and what it leaves out

A report reads a listing's newest Tripadvisor reviews, up to its report size, and says how far back it reached. On a busy hotel or landmark that can be a few months rather than years.

Some Tripadvisor reviews are shown only in Tripadvisor's own translation. A report reads the text Tripadvisor gives and lists the languages its reviews were in.

Reviews are read from the listing's public Tripadvisor page. There is no owner account to connect and nothing to install, which is also why a rival's hotel works as well as yours.

A free account gets 3 report runs a month of up to 500 reviews each and 1,500 reviews a month in all, with no card. Pro is $19 a month or $190 a year and adds every figure on every tab, tracked places with alerts by email and Slack, Compare and Ask the reviews. Max is $49 a month or $490 a year for larger reports, more tracked places and written analysis. See pricing.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Every place with a page on OneStar is listed in Places, with its ratings and public reports.

Reviewing a company rather than a place? See the Trustpilot review analyzer.

Working on an app or a game instead? See the App Store and Google Play review analyzer or the Steam review analyzer.

Can I analyze a hotel or restaurant I do not own?

Yes. Tripadvisor reviews are public, so any hotel, restaurant or attraction works, yours or a rival's, with nothing to connect. On Pro, Compare puts two to four places side by side on the same themes, each with its own score.

How is this different from the Tripadvisor rating?

The rating sums up every review over the listing's whole life. A report reads what recent reviewers say: which complaints and praise they name, who says they will not come back, how it changes week to week and whether management answers. Two hotels with the same rating can be failing for different reasons.

Can it reply to Tripadvisor reviews for me?

No. OneStar reads public reviews and counts what they say. Management responses are counted, but replies are written and posted on Tripadvisor itself.

Does it read reviews in other languages?

Yes. Reports read reviews in the language Tripadvisor gives them and list the languages they read. The themes were checked on English reviews, so figures from other languages deserve a closer look at the quotes behind them.

How many reviews can one report read?

Up to 500 reviews on Free, 5,000 on Pro and 25,000 on Max. A Tripadvisor report reads the newest reviews and says how far back it reached.

Can it read the same place on Google Maps too?

Yes. A place listed on Tripadvisor and Google Maps under the same name in the same town is matched into one place, and a report can read both, with each site's score shown on its own.

Can I ask about a place's reviews from Claude, Codex or Cursor?

Yes, on Pro and Max, in beta. Connect your assistant to OneStar over MCP and it can read your place reports, search the reviews behind them and start a refresh once you approve an estimate in reviews.

See what your guests are really saying.
